Apr\u00e8s avoir d\u00e9voil\u00e9 deux nouvelles chansons encens\u00e9es par la critique en 2016 ; After the Glow et Repeat, Jesse Mac Cormack annonce aujourd\u2019hui qu\u2019elles feront partie de son troisi\u00e8me EP en carri\u00e8re, After the Glow disponible partout le 16 septembre prochain sur l\u2019\u00e9tiquette Secret City Records.<\/p>\n

Jesse nous partage quelques mots \u00e0 propos de cet enregistrement : After the Glow a \u00e9t\u00e9 auto-produit et enregistr\u00e9 dans le garage de ma m\u00e8re, que j\u2019aime bien appeler mon studio. Le EP r\u00e9unit cinq chansons tr\u00e8s personnelles mais qui sauront r\u00e9sonner chez un vaste auditoire je crois. La musique et nos influences changent constamment. Ces cinq chansons capturent pour moi l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 2015.<\/p>\n

Cette ann\u00e9e, les chansons de Jesse ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9voil\u00e9es en primeur sur CLASH Music <\/a> et The Line of Best Fit <\/a> au Royaume-Uni, et ses vid\u00e9os ont \u00e9t\u00e9 diffus\u00e9es en primeur par Les Inrocks The Fader <\/a> aux \u00c9tats-Unis. Avec sa musique ayant g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 d\u00e9j\u00e0 plus de 1,8 millions de streams et des critiques \u00e9logieuses provenant d\u2019ici et d\u2019ailleurs, Jesse pourrait bien en effet incarner le nouveau h\u00e9ros de la folk moderne (Les Inrocks).<\/p>\n

Producteur \u00e0 ses heures pour des artistes de la sc\u00e8ne locale montr\u00e9alaise, notamment pour le premier opus d\u2019Emilie & Ogden, Jesse Mac Cormack a d\u00e9j\u00e0 partag\u00e9 la sc\u00e8ne avec Half Moon Run, Lou Doillon, Sophie Hunger et se produira cet \u00e9t\u00e9 aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de Cat Power et Shakey Graves, pour ne nommer que ceux-ci. Son premier EP, Music for the soul (2014), livre une sonorit\u00e9 acoustique unique et intimiste alors que son deuxi\u00e8me EP, CRUSH (2014) est enrob\u00e9 par le son de la guitare \u00e9lectrique et par un groupe complet de musiciens. Guid\u00e9e par des arrangements toujours plus complexes et des progressions rythmiques toujours plus pr\u00e9sentes, la voix passionn\u00e9e de Mac Cormack d\u00e9ment une jeunesse o\u00f9 rien n\u2019est \u00e0 perdre et tout \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir.<\/p>\n

Le jeune Mac Cormack a d\u00e9j\u00e0 une voix \u2014 elle rappellera \u00e0 l\u2019auditeur celle des d\u00e9buts de Patrick Watson, sur des orchestrations \u00e9pur\u00e9es qui, elles, \u00e9voquent l\u2019oeuvre de Daniel Lanois. – Le Devoir<\/p>\n
