The Barr Brothers
Cabaret-Théâtre du Vieux-Saint-Jean
Saint-jean-sur-richelieu, QC, Canada

Kaha:wi Dance Theatre - Continuance Immersive Commemoration
Brantford, ON, Canada
Created to mark the reopening of the former Mohawk Institute Residential School, this immersive outdoor production transforms the site through light, movement, and live music. Rooted in the Ohen:ton Karihwatehkwen (Thanksgiving Address), the performance honours Survivors while celebrating Indigenous cultural continuance, resilience, and renewal.
Led by Artistic Director Santee Smith, Continuance builds on over a decade of artistic engagement at the site. Audiences will be immersed in breathtaking 3D projection, powerful choreography, and electrifying live music, with special guest appearances by Jeremy Dutcher (May 29 only) and Aysanabee (May 30 only).
This is more than a performance - it's a gathering, a remembrance, and a reawakening. Continuance - Immersive Commemoration honours the legacy and voices of Survivors, recognizes the 10th anniversary year of the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action, marks Kaha:wi Dance Theatre's 20th anniversary and two decades of sharing Indigenous storytelling, culture, and creativity and the Woodland Cultural Centre's 50th anniversary.
Continuance - Immersive Commemoration is generously supported by Minister of Canadian Identity & Culture The Honourable Marc Miller, Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council, and donors The Barry and Laurie Green Family Charitable Trust, Brenda Wivell, National Bank, and anonymous.
